Two York doubles partners went head-to-head during Wednesday’s 3A East singles championship.
York’s No. 1 singles player Gaby Tersigni and the No. 2 singles player Kristin Dantzler guaranteed themselves berths in the Group 3A state singles tournament, but not before battling for the regional title.
In the end, Tersigni got the better of her teammate, winning the region singles title 7-5, 6-2.
Both Tersigni and Dantzler will now prepare to compete for York in the Group 3A state team tournament on Monday before playing in the Group 3A state singles tournament June 11 at Liberty University.
