Thursday’s 3A Colonial Rivers Conference 25 baseball and softball tournament semifinals and final scheduled for today have been postponed.
After lightning suspended the second of two semifinals in both sports at York High on Wednesday night, both were scheduled to resume at 5 p.m. today ahead of the 7 p.m. championship game.
Instead, tournament director John Ashley announced play will resume Friday at the same time.
York softball was leading Colonial Heights 3-1 in the bottom of the fourth inning when play was called. On the baseball field, Park View was leading Poquoson 2-0 in the fifth.
4A Conference 19 Tournament Still On
The semifinals of the 4A Conference tournament, which includes the baseball and softball teams from Grafton, Jamestown and Tabb, are still on as of 2:30 p.m. today.
Jamestown is scheduled to play Tabb at home at 4:30 p.m. in baseball while Grafton plays host to Smithfield in both sports at 4:30 p.m. Jamestown softball travels to play No. 1 Powhatan at 4:30 p.m.
