Tornado Threat Causes More Postponements

With rain in the forecast again and a tornado watch in effect until this evening, the local sports schedule has been postponed for the third day in a row.

Below is a sport-by-sport breakdown of when, or if, games will be made up.

TRACK AND FIELD

The Bay Rivers District penta meet between Jamestown, Bruton, New Kent, Smithfield and Tabb at Bailey Field has been canceled with no makeup date announced.

TENNIS

The boys and girls matches between Jamestown and York have been moved to 4 p.m. May 2. Jamestown is home in boys and York will host the girls match.

The boys and girls matches between Tabb and Bruton have not been rescheduled as of Wednesday afternoon.

SOCCER

Brutons boys’ non-district contest against Denbigh has been canceled, and may not be rescheduled. Aathletic director Richard Onesty said this week has been a “complete mess” in regards to scheduling, and fears many games will have to be wiped off the schedule completely.
