Another fine pitching performance from senior Grey Harris guided Grafton’s baseball team to an 8-1 road victory over Bay Rivers District rival Tabb on Thursday.
Harris allowed one run on one hit with four strikeouts over six innings to improve to 2-1 on the season. In his last district outing against York, he gave a similar performance when he fanned eight batters and gave up one run on two hits in a 7-1 victory.
Harris helped himself at the plate as well, finishing 1-2 with three RBI. Ricks Dearing and Jordan Sprouse collected a pair of hits and drove in two runs apiece.
The victory was the Clippers fourth in a row against district opponents as they improved to 4-1 in the BRD on the season. The loss was the Tigers’ third in their last four district games, as they dropped to 4-3 in the BRD.

Grafton Softball Swings Past Tabb
Freshman pitcher Chelsea Evans allowed one run over seven innings and helped provide herself with more than enough run support at the plate as Grafton’s softball team rolled past Tabb 13-1 on the road Thursday.
Evans drove in a team-high four runs and Aly Deaver went 3-4 with three RBI to lead the offense, which erupted for nine of its 13 runs during the final two innings.
Morgan Wooddell went 1-3 and drove in Tabb’s only run.

Keating Brothers Lead Walsingham Past Ocean Lakes
Ryan Keating allowed two hits and one run over three innings to earn his first win of the season as Walsingham ended a three-game losing streak by defeating Ocean Lakes 4-2 in Virginia Beach on Thursday.
Jack Keating went 2-3 with a run and three stolen bases and Collan Cryts went 1-3 with two RBI for Walsingham. The Trojans took the lead with three runs in the top of the sixth to break and 1-1 tie.
