Woodside Offense Erupts Late Against York

York rallied, but Woodside countered with the knockout blow.

In the first of two Bay Rivers District-Peninsula District matchups held at York High, the host Falcons rallied from five runs down to the game in the fifth inning only to watch Woodside answer with eight runs in the final two frames to run away with a 15-7 victory.

Trailing 6-1 in the fourth, York rallied for six runs in the bottom half of the frame to take a 7-6 lead thanks largely to a pair of two-RBI singles off the bat of Chris Rock and Trevor Kelly. The Wolverines would get one back in the top of the fifth to tie things at 7-all before scoring three more runs in the sixth and five more in the seventh.
