The Bay Rivers District dominated the all-Conference 25 volleyball team announced over the weekend.
Warhill junior outside hitter Alex Koon, who led the Lions to a 3-1 win over Lafayette in the conference championship last Friday, was voted Conference Player of the Year while her father, Greg Koon, was named Coach of the Year.
Seven other district players joined Koon on the all-conference first team, including teammate Colby Norris, Lafayette’s Kiersten Langerud and Abby Oren, and York’s Sydney Sumner. New Kent’s Gina Sledd and Skylar Cossaboon, as well as Poquoson’s Toni Anne Whitlow were also named to the first team. Bay Rivers District players took eight of the nine spots on the first team. Five other district players earned second team all-conference distinction.
