The Score: Monday Prep Sports Results

Norfolk Academy baseball defeated Walsingham Academy, and York girls soccer cruised to a win. Check out stats and scores from last night’s games below.

BASEBALL

Norfolk Academy 3  Walsingham Academy 1
The Bulldogs earned a 3-1 win over the Trojans to end the regular season with a 7-2 TCIS record. Matthew Cooper went 2 for 3 a knocked in a run for Norfolk Academy. Jordan Kovach also went 2 for 3 and scored a run. Pitcher Michael Parsons earned the win. For Walsingham (4-5), Beau Lejeune had a strong day at the plate notching two hits in three at-bats. The two will face off again at 4:30 p.m. today at Norfolk Academy for the first round of the TCIS playoffs.
BOYS SOCCER
Denbigh 4  Bruton 1
Denbigh extended their 1-0 halftime lead to 4-1 to defeat Bruton on Monday. Andrew Maeso scored the Panthers’ only goal.
GIRLS SOCCER
York 8  Poquoson 1
The Falcons continued to be dominant, with Jennifer Pandolf tallying four goals in the win. Kisa Reck had three goals and five assists and Elizabeth Kramer scored one. Kamryn Comer, Lauren Carter and Ashley Pandolf had assists as well. Since their only Bay Rivers loss of the season April 9 to Jamestown (5-1) the Falcons have won four in a row and scored 36 goals.
