In one of the few area contests that wasn’t postponed due to rain, York’s boys soccer team handled Phoebus 4-0 in the Falcons’ home opener at Bailey Field Monday night.

Gavin Homan, Bailey McClure and Chad Latulipe scored a goal apiece in the first half on assists from Max Poelker, Jeremy Dillard and Philip Cragg as York opened up a 3-0 lead at the break. Khalil Duncan added one more goal in the second half while the Falcons defense held Phoebus without a shot on goal en route to a 4-0 victory. With a victory over Kecoughtan and a tie with Woodside in the Garvey Tournament, York improved to 2-0-1 on the season with the win.
