Another Washout in Bay Rivers Baseball, Softball

Rain continues to wreak havoc on the Bay Rivers District baseball and softball schedule.

Soaked fields have made an already long list of make-up games longer, as rain will once again postpone the entire slate of district games scheduled for today. Not all games from last week’s opening day washout have been made up.

Most teams will try to play Wednesday,  but it is likely many will have to be moved to Thursday because of the soaked field conditions.

As of late Tuesday morning, four of the baseball/softball matchups – York vs. Jamestown, Grafton vs. Bruton, Tabb vs. Poquoson, Lafayette vs. Smithfield – have been rescheduled for Wednesday. The Warhill-New Kent baseball/softball games have been moved to Thursday.

Soccer

The site of tonight’s Lafayette-Gloucester boys and girls soccer double-header has been moved from Gloucester High School to James City County’s Wanner Stadium. Girls play at 5:30 p.m. followed by the boys at 7 p.m.

Grafton’s boys soccer game against Bethel is still on for tonight at Bailey Field, while Grafton’s girls away game at Chancellor has been moved to Wednesday. Tabb’s boys have moved their home matchup against Grassfield to tomorrow as well.
