
Hampton Roads Academy junior standout Braysia Hicks scored the 1,000 point of her career Wednesday night in a 51-41 loss to Nansemond Suffolk Academy.
HRA led 13-12 after one quarter but was outscored 28-18 during the second and third. Hicks, who leads the Navigators in scoring (16.5 points) and rebounds (6.3) this season, paced the Navigators (8-2) with 14 points.

After opening the game with an 18-0 run, Hampton Roads Academy’s boys basketball team ran away from Nansemond Suffolk 72-32. Trent Topping and K.J. Steinthorsson led the Navigators (9-3) with 14 points and Quincy Mock chipped in with 13.

Grafton 51 Poquoson 32
Balanced scoring and stifling defense was the formula for Grafton, which earned a 51-32 road victory at Poquoson. Elijah Moore, Tyler McMillan and Joey Miller each scored 11 points to lead the Clippers, who blanked the host Islanders 17-0 in the first quarter.
Lafayette 93 New Kent 71
John Fitchett poured in a career-high 39 points and Mark Rivera finished with 17 as Lafayette ran away from New Kent in the second half for a 20-point win. The Rams (5-7, 4-6 BRD) outscored the host Trojans 46-24 after it was a 47-all at the half.
Warhill 70 York 58
Jacary Crew led all scorers with 27 points and Devonte Dedmon returned after a one-game absence to score 18 as Warhill (6-4 BRD) ended a two-game skid on the road at York. The Falcons (5-7, 3-6 BRD) were led by Maxwell Trice’s 26 points.
Tabb 51 Jamestown 35
Daniel Schiele scored 17 points and Kaleb Mitchell added 11 as Tabb improved to 6-4 in the Bay Rivers with a 51-35 road victory at Jamestown.
