The Score: Friday’s Bay Rivers Boys Basketball Scoreboard

After holding Warhill scoreless in first period, Tabb holds on for upset of visiting Lions, Trice brothers lead York past Lafayette, and more.

 

Tabb 73  Warhill 65

After jumping out to a 17-0 lead after one quarter, Tabb held on to upset visiting Warhill 73-65 Friday evening, boosting the Tigers’ record to 4-4 on the season. Kaleb Mitchell led all scorers with a game-high 27 points and Daniel Schiele added 17 for Tabb. Devonte Dedmond (20 points) and Jacary Crew (17 points) led Warhill in scoring.

 

York 74  Lafayette 67

Lafayette standout John Fitchett netted a game-high 21 points, but York’s Evan and Maxwell Trice scored 18 apiece with Brandon Harvell adding 14 as the Falcons improved to 4-4 on the season (3-4 BRD). Junior Marc Rivera added 18 for the Rams, who dropped to 3-6 on the year (2-6 BRD).

 

Grafton 75   Jamestown  59

Elijah Moore led all scorers with 25 points while Jesse Santiago, Tyler McMillan  and Joey Miller each chipped in with 11 as Grafton improved to 8-1 on the year, and a Bay Rivers best 8-0 in the district. Jamestown (3-4 BRD) was led by Daivon Turner’s 20 points.

 

Bruton 74   Poquoson 41

With standout guard  Royce Bowden sidelined with an ankle injury, Poquoson struggled mightily against Bruton’s full-court press as the Panthers bruised to a 30-point win. Balanced scoring led Bruton (7-1 BRD) as Lonnie Swinton (15 points) and Kapri Doucet (10 points) were the only Panthers to score in double figures.
