The upcoming Region I cross country meet, which will be held this year at Loriella Park in Fredericksburg, has been moved from Wednesday, Oct. 31 to Friday in light of the soggy and potentially hazardous running conditions brought on recently by Hurricane Sandy.
Among the five teams and 15 individuals from the Bay Rivers on both the boys and girls side that will be competing Friday are the defending region champs, Lafayette’s boys and Grafton’s girls, who dominated last week’s district championships held at Eastern State.
Rams’ senior standout Kurtis Steck, coming off a third-place finish at districts last week, will also look to defend his Region I crown last year.
