VIRGINIA BEACH — Gated home with a flexible floor plan, two blocks from the beach, and a state park as a neighbor: What more can a home offer?
“It’ll have an electric entry gate that can be opened from a car, iPhone, or home landline,” said Joel Flax, CFO of Resort Builders, which is developing the four-home gated community that includes 221 76th St. in Virginia Beach.
“It has on-street guest parking, a sprinkler system for landscaping, common area site lighting, and is on a cul-de-sac. There are only a few like this on the North End.”
The home, along with three others that will eventually be constructed, sits inside its own gated community. It’s not the first such development in the North End, but it is the second, and offers an added sense of security, with a little extra privacy to boot.
The flexible floor plan is a unique feature as well.
Flax said that each level of the three-story home can be reconfigured to match family needs, whether it’s the age of their children or the age of owners themselves, or of a family in a multi-generational living arrangement.
“As an example, we can configure a one- or two-car garage, add a bedroom on the second floor, and the master bedroom can be designed on either the first or second floor,” he explained, adding that the inclusion of a media room also adds some flexibility.
There’s also an elevator, which makes getting from the first floor to the third a breeze.
Outside the home, and just a few steps past the front gate, is a walking entrance to First Landing State Park, a perfect situation for a family that lives an active lifestyle. The park offers some 19 miles of trails for hiking or walking, as well as a few miles of trails for biking.
Another perk of having the state park as a neighbor, said Flax, is that it’s very unlikely that additional development will ever occur on the west side of the home’s property.
The home is served by Linkhorn Park Elementary, Virginia Beach Middle, and Frank W. Cox High School.
