Where We Live: Beachside home with ocean, silver screen views

VIRGINIA BEACH — Whether or not Mother Nature cooperates, a three-story, 12-bedroom vacation home located in Sandbridge may have a view for you.

The home gives guests ocean views from a second story cabana-style gazebo and another of a big screen in its theater with coliseum-style seating.

“Some of our upscale luxury homes are now offering indoor-theater rooms … it’s great for sporting events,” Sandbridge Realty marketing director Lisa Roland said. “The theater seating is something you’d find a regular commercial movie theater or cinema.”

The home is a few miles from Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge, near the North Bay and steps away from the Atlantic Ocean, away from the bustle of the Oceanfront. It also features an arcade with four machines, an indoor and outdoor pool, a covered hot tub and rooms with distinguished themes.

Roland said the home dubbed “The Regency” is a great property to rent during the cooler months because of its indoor amenities.

The second floor has a living area for adults to pour big drinks, play a game of pool or watch television. This room also features wood floors, wall panels and marble cutouts attached to the walls to place those beverages.

“It’s reminiscent of an English pub,” Roland said about the second floor living space. “The owner also has a Margaritaville margarita machine … it’s almost like a commercial space in the house.”

Outside on the second-floor’s deck, Roland said guests can enjoy the ocean view in rain or sunshine.

“There’s a gazebo that shoots out from the back of the house toward to ocean where you can be covered in inclement weather, there’s a bar, you can watch a sporting event or have breakfast and coffee there,” Roland said.

This deck overlooks the home’s shaded and tiled outdoor pool area with two grills, a wet bar and outdoor furniture.

This vacation home is currently available for rent weekly or for three-day periods from Sandbridge Realty under a listing titled “The Regency.”
