Mid-Atlantic Pastel Society Exhibit to be Featured at WCAC

WILLIAMSBURG — The Williamsburg Contemporary Art Center (WCAC) announced that its new February art exhibit will feature artwork by members of the MidAtlantic Pastel Society (MAPS).

The exhibit will run from Feb. 9 to March 4 and the gallery is expected to feature 50 to 60 pastel pieces mostly from Virginia artists.

MAPS is a not-for-profit organization that is dedicated to Pastel Art. The organization works to promote and educate others about pastels as a fine art medium. Its membership is open to adults who are both beginners and professionals and offers an array of programs to its members including educational training and opportunities to exhibit pieces.

MAPS features an art gallery on its website that demonstrates a variety of artwork that some of its members have produced with Pastels.

WCAC also announced that they will be running the MAPS exhibit alongside side a new member exhibit to be featured in the Fireside Gallery called “Pet Parade” as well as featuring new additions in its Artisan Corner.

The art center is requiring that masks be worn at these exhibits. Additionally, all work will be for sale.
