Julia Ann Walton Bancalari, 82, of New Kent VA, passed away August 14th, 2026.

Julia was born at home in Cleveland, West Virginia on December 6th, 1943, to Ethel Murl (McCartney) Walton and Willard Arden Walton. She grew up in Cleveland and Kanawha Head, West Virginia, surrounded by family and the simple joys of home and community.

After graduating, Julia spent most of her life in Virginia, where she built a beautiful life centered around the things she loved most. Raising her four children was her proudest achievement and where she found the most joy in life. She loved the Lord deeply and cherished her large family. She had a special love for taking care of babies and was happiest when surrounded by the people she loved.

Julia loved flowers, helping others and going to church. She gave freely of herself and found joy in caring for others. Her kindness and love for her family touched many lives and will be remembered by all who knew her.

Julia was preceded in death by her parents, Ethel Murl McCartney Walton and Willard Arden Walton. She is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Sims (Cliff) and Karen Strimple (Rob); two sons, Kevin Bancalari (Shirley) and Kyle Bancalari; five siblings, Harry Walton (Donna), Marlene Elmore (Joe), Ken Walton (Geneva), Joyce Haymond (Jerry) and Garry Walton (Joanie); twelve grandchildren, Todd Clements (Destiny), Stephanie Furnas (Caleb), Carrie Adorno (Jacob), Cheryl Tallerdy (Doug), Kevin Bancalari (Stephanie), Keith Bancalari, James Kahl Jr., Brittany Thompson (Jim), Josh Strimple (Lauren), Adam Strimple, Savannah Strimple and Morrigan Lucas; and fourteen great-grandchildren, Anthony and Stetson Clements, Logan and Ethan Furnace, Hailey and Jamison Adorno, Brandon Fisher, Elizabeth and Cynthia Nigro, Daniel Tallerdy, Brooks and Libby Thompson, Allison Schafer and Ezra Strimple.

Julia’s greatest legacy is the family she loved so dearly. Her faith, kindness, generosity and love will continue through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings and all those whose lives she touched.

She loved deeply.
She gave freely.
She served faithfully.
And she will be loved and missed forever.
