A dedicated mail courier and civil servant, Deborah was known for her commitment to her work and her community. However, her most treasured role was that of a loving mother to her two children, Shana Palumbo and Michael Burdette. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her world, and she devoted herself to their happiness and well-being.
Deborah’s joyful spirit was infectious; she was funny, loud, and truly the life of the party. She was fondly remembered for her ability to bring laughter and warmth to any gathering. Her hospitality shone brightly as she often hosted parties, delighting in the company of friends and family over a nice cold Bud Light.
Her interests were as vivid and spirited as she was. Known for her love of the color pink, she enjoyed indulging in honeybuns and chocolate ice cream, always accompanied by an icy cold Diet Pepsi. Television time with her grandkids, watching shows like NCIS and SWAT, were cherished moments that brought her immense joy, especially when she managed to keep hold of the remote. An ardent music lover, Deborah felt rhythms deeply and danced whenever the mood struck. A steadfast Cowboys fan, she also relished reading Stephen King novels, diving into their thrilling tales with gusto.
Preceded in death by her beloved parents, Martha and Titus Payne, Deborah leaves behind a rich legacy through her surviving family members. Her daughter Shana Palumbo, her son Michael Palumbo, her adored grandchildren Kayla, Amiya, Aaliyah, and Alisia, and her precious great-grandchildren Kayden, Karter, Kamden, and Ayla will forever hold her memory close. Her brothers, Chuck and David Payne, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends, will continue to celebrate her vibrant presence in their lives.
Though no services are scheduled at this time, Deborah’s spirit will be commemorated daily through those who loved her. Her grandkids and family were her happy place, always bringing the biggest smiles to her face. Her favorite characters, Tweety Bird and Hello Kitty, reflected her delightful blend of spice and sweetness.
