Deborah “Debi” Howard passed away on August 1, 2026, just days before her 70th birthday. She was born on August 5, 1956. To a select few who loved to tease her, she was affectionately known as “Judy.”
Debi was a loving mother, proud nanny, cherished friend, and the heart of her family. She is survived by her husband, Rick Howard; her daughter, Darlene Crick and her longtime companion, Walt Michalczik; and her son, Bryan Bunn.
She was an incredibly proud grandmother to Kalyn Gonzalez, Matt Crick, Nate Crick, Dillon Bunn, Gavin Bunn, Grayson Bunn, and Devon Adamchuk, and a devoted great-grandmother to Emma Gonzalez and Maddelynn Gonzalez. Nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her family, and she treasured every opportunity to have everyone together.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Barbara McClelland; her brother, John McClelland III; and her sister, Cathy Reinhart.
Debi was known for her feisty spirit, quick wit, and fierce love for the people she cared about. She never hesitated to speak her mind, stood up for those she loved, and had a personality that left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Beneath that spirited nature was a kind and generous heart that was always ready to help others.
She found peace and happiness tending to her plants, watching the birds outside her window, and caring for animals of every kind. Her beloved dog, Toby, and her sugar glider, Gizmo, held a special place in her heart and brought her endless companionship.
Debi’s greatest joy was being surrounded by the people she loved. Whether sharing stories, celebrating milestones, or simply spending time together, she created lasting memories with family and friends. Her love, strength, humor, and unwavering devotion will continue to live on through all those whose lives she touched.
Debi’s legacy is one of love, resilience, and kindness. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered by her family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to have known her.
A celebration of Debi’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages everyone to honor her memory by spending time with loved ones, appreciating the beauty of nature, or showing kindness to an animal—simple acts that reflected the way Debi lived her life.
