With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Anthony Michel Rodriguez, who departed this life on Monday, July 20, 2026, at the age of 38, following a tragic automobile accident.
Anthony was born in the Dominican Republic to Antonia Bonilla and Porfirio Rodriguez. Inspired by his father, Anthony discovered his passion for cooking at a young age. What began as a shared love of food and time spent in the kitchen grew into a lifelong calling, allowing him to share his creativity, generosity, and love through every meal he prepared.
Anthony proudly served in the United States Army before pursuing his culinary education at the Culinary Institute of Virginia. His talent, dedication, and relentless pursuit of excellence led him to train under some of the world’s most respected chefs and build an exceptional culinary career. As Executive Chef of Riverwalk Restaurant and Water Street Grille in Yorktown, Virginia, he earned the admiration of colleagues and guests alike for his creativity, leadership, and unwavering commitment to excellence. To Anthony, cooking was more than a profession, it was his way of bringing people together, creating lasting memories, and expressing love.
While Anthony found fulfillment in his career, his greatest joy was always his family. He treasured spending time with those he loved, preparing meals that brought everyone together, listening to music, and making memories with his beloved dog, Elliot, who was a constant source of companionship and joy. Anthony’s quiet presence, generous spirit, and caring heart made everyone around him feel welcomed and loved.
Anthony was a quiet and gentle soul who never asked for much. He possessed a strong will and could be a little hardheaded at times, but that determination became one of his greatest strengths. Those who knew him best understood that beneath his honesty and unfiltered commentary was a compassionate heart, a humble spirit, and an unwavering love for his daughter. Being Victoria’s father was the role he cherished above all others, and she remained the center of his world.
Anthony is survived by his beloved daughter, Victoria Rodriguez; Victoria’s mother, Maria Rosario; his loving mother, Antonia Bonilla; his father, Porfirio Rodriguez; his brothers, Glenn Rodriguez, Willie Rodriguez, and Ronald Mezquita; his cherished nieces and nephews; and many extended family members and dear friends who will forever miss him.
Anthony leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and generosity. He will be remembered for the comfort he brought through a home-cooked meal, the quiet strength he carried through life’s challenges, and the unconditional love he gave so freely. Though our hearts are broken by his passing, we find comfort in knowing that his spirit will continue to live on in every family gathering, every shared meal, every favorite song, and every memory that brings a smile.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2026 with a Service to Celebrate Anthony’s Life starting at 5:00 p.m. at Weymouth Funeral Home.
