Araceli Reyes Varias, born on October 26, 1944 in the hometown of Tarlac, Philippines, and exited life on July 17, 2026 at Sentara Princess Anne Virginia Beach at the ripe age of 81.
Cely was in the world of numbers and mastered money. She was the family financial gatekeeper and the reason why we have what we have today. Mom gracefully retired in her 50s from Chartway Credit Union.
Cely, loved her mahjong tiles, slot machines and a good family trash talking bingo session. Give her a fishing rod and or chicken leg with rope and it’s game on. Mom loved her music especially Elvis, Patsy Cline and Nat King Cole to just name a few and if she can bust a move she would.
Mom was blessed with a green thumb and her favorite flower were the dead one’s for her to revive. Mom and dad had a flourishing vegetable and vibrant garden that they tended to every single day.
Araceli was a proud and avid member of St. Luke’s Catholic community. A devoted wife, mother, sister and friend. My mother was her son’s #1 fan and her daughter’s PIC (partner in crime).
Cely leaves behind her 2 sons, daughter, daughter-in-law, sisters, cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and friends. She is joined with my father Remy and those who have left us behind.
Mom will be departing not saying goodbye, but shrugging saying “Oh well, see you all later!”
Here is a smooth, paragraph-style version tailored specifically to fit at the end of her obituary:
