Ross Galloway Lindsay, age 68, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Williamsburg following a brief illness.
Ross was raised in the Fox Hill area of Hampton, graduating from Kecoughtan High School in 1976. He went on to earn a B.S. in Business Administration from Christopher Newport University in 1982. Ross dedicated much of his career to Virginia Steel Fabricators, eventually becoming the owner of the company.
In retirement, he found great joy working for James City County at the Jamestown Beach Event Park, where he formed many cherished friendships. He was also an avid fisherman who shared countless happy times on the water with his brother, Alan.
Ross was preceded in death by his longtime partner, Charlotte Carter. He is lovingly remembered by his sister, Lorraine Watkins (Jeffrey); his brother, Alan Lindsay; his nieces, Angela Rowe McDonald (Sean) and Lauren Watkins Malone (Jonathan); three grandnieces and three grandnephews; and his close friends, Curtis and Elena.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation in memory of Ross’s father, Donald Lindsay whose life was impacted by Parkinson’s Disease.
To honor his wishes, the family will host a private Celebration of Life at a later date rather than a formal funeral service.
