Elwood Paul Boroughs, 75, of New Kent, VA passed away on Friday, June 12, 2026, at his home.
He was born on August 23, 1950, in New Kent, VA to the late DL and Margarette Boroughs. Elwood was a graduate of New Kent High School and served his country in the Army National Guard of Virginia and in the reserves for several years.
Later in his life he worked and retired from The Cheseapeake Paper Corp. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, collecting Ford vehicles, spending time with his goats and especially his Jack Russell dog babies whom he names Jack, Rebel, Chips and Telly.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Stertz and Elizabeth Violet; and a brother, William Boroughs.
He is survived by his two sons, Edward Boroughs and Rudy Boroughs and a daughter-in-law, Jill Boroughs; grandchildren, Amanda Boroughs, Makayla Boroughs and Jared Brylle Edeza, Evan James Hornbeck, Mason Joseph Hornbeck, and Blake Tayler Fearnow. He is also survived by his siblings and their spouses, Laura Croswell, David and Joanne Boroughs, Rose and MC Lipscomb, Robert Arthur Boroughs and James and Fran Boroughs.
