Beverly Gail Warfield, aged 76, of Chesapeake, Virginia, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026. Born on May 21, 1950, in Alexandria, Virginia, she was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose life was marked by dedication to her family, her work, and her passions.

Beverly was a dedicated professional whose career was distinguished by her contributions as a Chemist at the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) and as a Planner for Stormwater Management with Prince George’s County Government. She was a member of the Board of Directors of the District of Columbia Water and Sewer Authority (DC WASA). Her work was characterized by a commitment to environmental stewardship and public service.

A graduate of Groveton High School, Beverly furthered her education by earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from James Madison University. Her passion for science and the natural world was evident both in her professional life and personal interests.

Beverly was a true artist and a deeply creative soul. Outside of her scientific career, she had a zest for life that she expressed through painting, drawing, playing the clarinet, cycling, photography, cake decorating, and calligraphy. Her artistic talents were matched only by her love of the outdoors, allowing her to capture and celebrate the beauty of the world through her camera lens, her canvas, her pen, and her music.

Beverly was preceded in death by her mother, Rita Marie DeTrano; her father, Richard Guy Coley; her step-father, Jasper Taylor Satterwhite; her sisters, Judith Marie Coley and Madeline Diane Coley; and her step-siblings, Jasper Taylor Satterwhite, Jr., Jacqueline Louise Satterwhite, and Melvin Douglas Satterwhite.

She is survived by her loving husband, David Warfield; her son, Brian Warfield and his wife Deepa, along with their daughter Asha; her daughters, Christine Warfield and Jessica Stallings and her husband Brad, along with their daughter Blake.

Beverly’s memory will be cherished by her family and friends, who will remember her for her warmth, intelligence, and unwavering love.
