Alice Fay Amory went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 31, 2026.
A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she was a member of Indian Creek – Welcome Baptist Church where over the years she worked bus routes and taught Sunday School.
She was a faithful teacher at ICW Baptist School for 37 Years.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 63 years, Joe Amory Sr; Daughters Donna Otranto (Thomas); Jean Hendricks (Ken) and son, Joe Amory Jr.; grandchildren Marci (Max); Evan Otranto; Eric Otranto (Alley); Cullen Hendricks; Joel Otranto; Isabella Hendricks; sister, Brenda Scoble (Mike);Sister in law, Barbara Waters and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by parents Dee Horton Waters, Margaret Ruth Waters and brother Irvin Glenn Water, Sr.
Special thanks to Heartland nurses, Risper and Erica for the loving care they provided to mom.
A Celebration of Alice’s life will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at Indian Creek Baptist Church, 1221 Indian Creek Road in Chesapeake, VA officiated by the Rev. Earl Green and Rev. David Crawford. Viewing will begin at 2:00 pm at the church. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
