Senorita Charnella Cotman, 59, of Charles City, VA, departed this life on Thursday, April 23, 2026, surrounded by her cherished family and loved ones.
She was born on May 5, 1966, to the late Janice Cotman, James F. Jones, and her stepfather, Raymond Blanding. She was a woman whose presence brought warmth to every room and whose heart extended far beyond herself. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and quiet strength.
Senorita graduated from Charles City High School. She enjoyed attending Wings of Love church when she could and watched Little Elam services online every Sunday. She loved makeup and those who knew her rarely saw her without it. She was truly beautiful, inside and out. Senorita also liked watching television, and always posted Happy Birthday wishes to her family and friends on Facebook. She also loved cooking with her signature dishes being mac & cheese, and barbecue, which were a favorite to family and friends.
Senorita leaves to cherish her memory aunts, Alice Allen, Indiana Cotman, and Donnice Jones, all of Charles City, VA; devoted sister, Geneva Odom; devoted brothers, Sherod Jones (Sheena), Maurice Jones (Rene), and James F. Jones, Jr. (Althea); devoted cousins, Gail Cotman, Cheryl Johnson, Charlene Fleming (Kenny), Shivawn Cotman, Lakhesia Jones, William Tabb (Althea), Vernon Johnson, and Haley Cotman (Janice); her best friend, Kashina Sams; Marion Wallace, whom she considered a second mother; devoted caregiver, Valerie Cotman, and devoted friend, Christopher Haskins.
Senorita also leaves behind cherished family members, including Kamron and Kanyon Gayles, whom she lovingly regarded as her godchildren and who held a special place in her heart, as well as an honorary nephew, Chase, who he affectionately referred to Senorita as “Re Re”. Although she had no biological children, she embraced a deeply meaningful role as a devoted godmother to Erica Allen, Kayla Sams, Tamara Crewe, and MaKayla Cotton. She loved each of her godchildren as her own and made a lasting impact on their lives—one they will carry with them always.
A funeral service will be held 12Noon Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, VA 23140.
