Christopher John Ward, 74, of Toano, Virginia, passed away peacefully on April 24th. Born December 10th 1951 in Greenfield, Massachusetts, Chris carried his New England roots with him throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Edie Ward, with whom he shared 43 cherished years of marriage. Chris is survived by his loving children: daughter Stacie Burns and her husband Justin Burns, son Rex Ward and his wife Lauren Ward and his grandchildren Lola, Connor, Liliana, and Ava.
Chris worked for many years as a landscaper, a profession that reflected his passion for the outdoors and his strong work ethic.
In Chris’ free time he found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. He was a fan of Massachusetts sports teams, which he enjoyed watching with family and friends. He also had a passion for golf, often spending time on the course, and treasured traveling to the Caribbean, where he embraced relaxation and adventure alike. Above all, he had a deep love for his pet dogs, who were constant companions and a source of comfort.
Chris will be remembered for his dedication to family, and the many memories he created with those he loved. His presence will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
