Justin Floyd Ward, born on July 25, 1946, in Blandeboro, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at the age of 79 on April 26, 2026, in Newport News, Virginia. His life was a testament to unwavering love, faith, and dedication to both his family and community.
As the owner and operator of Fiberglass Customs Inc., Justin exemplified hard work and integrity. His tireless efforts and entrepreneurial spirit served as an inspiration to many who knew him. Beyond his professional endeavors, Justin’s life was rich with passions that brought him joy and connected him with those around him. He loved fishing and was a devoted fan of both the Atlanta Braves and Washington Redskins.
A man of deep faith, Justin was a committed member of the Faith Church of God in Hampton, Virginia. His faith guided him in every aspect of his life, allowing him to live with kindness, generosity, and a heart open to everyone he met. Christmas was a special time for Justin, as he would selflessly feed the homeless, embodying the true spirit of giving.
Justin’s home was always a haven, filled with warmth and hospitality. He cherished his family above all and was the cornerstone of their close-knit bond. He never hesitated to lend a helping hand or offer words of encouragement, and his legacy of compassion and resilience lives on through those he leaves behind.
Preceded in death by his beloved sons, David L. Knobling and Andrew Ward, and his parents Berlie and Eunice Ward, and his brother, Arnold Ward, Justin is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Lawanda Ward. Together, they built a loving family, including his children Tammy Ward, Russell Ward, Jamie Rhodes (Michael), and Lynn Chandler. His grandchildren, Nicholas Andrew Ward, Gabriel Ryan Ward, Justin Floyd Ward, Kendell Rhodes, Cassidy Lynn Ward, Ethan Shane Ward, Chris Umbrello, and Amanda Umbrello, along with his great-grandchildren Sophia Ward, Winston Ward, and Grayson Ward, his sisters, Doris Claybough and Diane Berry, and sister-in-law Linda Ward, all carry forward his spirit of generosity and love. He also leaves behind a host of cherished friends and extended family.
A celebration of Justin’s remarkable life will be held on Saturday, May 2, at 2 p.m. at Faith Church of God, located at 1115 Todds Lane, Hampton, Virginia. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Justin are invited to gather in remembrance of a truly extraordinary man.
