Garland Floyd Trower was called home to be free from pain on Friday, February 13, 2026.

Garland Floyd was born to the late Roosevelt and Viola Trower on February 5, 1962, in Charles City County, Virginia. He was later reared by Roosevelt Trower and Clara Roane, his godmother. Garland Floyd accepted Christ at an early age at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Charles City, VA. He was educated in the Charles City County Public Schools.

Garland Floyd was a quiet person in spirit but always full of laughter and fun. He enjoyed playing cornhole and cards with his family and friends, but his favorite hobby was detailing automobiles to “shine like new money.” He was preceded in death by his parents, Roosevelt and Viola Trower; brother, Roger L. Lewis; godmother, Clara Roane, and many other family members and friends.

Garland Floyd leaves to cherish his memories, his brother, George Trower (Jean), one devoted Theodore Trower (Junie); one devoted sister, Darlene Washington (Willie); one uncle, Robert Woodley (Diane); one aunt, Grace Woodley; sister in law, Alfreda A. Lewis; one niece, Andrea Trower; one nephew, Dontá Washington; two great nephews, Tyrell Trower and Cameron Marks; two great nieces, Malika Trower, and Janiya Washington; two devoted cousins, Roy and Kermit White; devoted caretaker, James Dickerson, and a host of other loving family members and friends.

A funeral service will be held 1PM Friday, February 20, 2026, at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, VA 23140. A viewing will be held one hour prior.
