Nadie Kurek, 83, of New Kent, passed away quietly on Thursday January 15, 2026. She was the eldest child of Marion VanPelt and Glennie Marie Sanderson Butler.
She grew up in Norfolk and Virginia Beach and attended Princess Anne High School.
She married Anthony Kurek and together they raised two sons Christopher and Gregory. She was active in the parish of St. Bede Catholic church and also in the Richmond dioceses. In her later years she continued service in her community, often volunteering at the local food pantry.
She is survived by her sons, her brother John W. Butler and two sisters Rhonda B. Gale and Lisa G. Butler, her three grandchildren, her one great grandchild and a host of friends and family.
