Mr. Bert Taylor, age 94, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2026 in Williamsburg, VA.
He was born in West Eaton, New York on October 3, 1931 to Lynn and Rose Taylor and later graduated from Oneida High School. Bert lived most of his life in Sherrill, New York with his wife Doris Arno Taylor. After his wife passed, he relocated to Williamsburg, VA in 2015 to live with his daughter Sandra and her husband.
Bert had a talent for being able to “fix” almost anything. He was a natural problem solver with an obliging spirit for his family and
friends. Restoring antique furniture, renovating their beloved craftsman house, mowing his daughter’s yard, or installing the ceiling fans in his grandson’s new home demonstrated the love and devotion he had for his family. A significant guiding force in the lives of his grandchildren, he witnessed college graduations, marriages, doctoral achievements, military commissions, promotions, and the birth and growth of his great grandchildren.
Bert was predeceased by his wife, Doris, in 2014. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Lynn and Dwayne Taylor, and his sisters, Joyce Card and Helen Morris.
He leaves behind his two daughters, Susan and her husband John McMullen and Sandra and her husband Felicito Figueroa, four grandchildren, Erik Figueroa and his wife Marcela, Lisa and her husband Christopher Crawford, Allison McMullen and her husband Matthew Berginski, and Benjamin McMullen and his wife Brittany. He also leaves behind eight great-grandchildren Madeleine, Elizabeth, Taylor, Anderson, Alex, Abigail, Hannah, and Samuel.
Funeral services will be held at Bucktrout of Williamsburg on January 24, 2026 Visitation at 11:00am – 12:00pm Service at 12:00pm – 1:00pm
Mr. Taylor will be buried with his wife at Valley View Cemetery in Oneida, New York.
