JoAnn Schiller Panuska, 83, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at her home.
JoAnn was born in Bellaire, OH where she graduated from Bellaire High School and from the Elliott School of Business She was a resident of Williamsburg for the past 28 years. JoAnn worked for Newport News Shipbuilding for over 50 years and was a member of St. Bede Catholic Church.
JoAnn was a member of CSA Fraternal Life, Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority and the International Association of Administrative Professionals. She enjoyed reading, puzzles and traveling to Disney World. She was an avid Ohio State Football fan cheering on her Buckeyes at the Rose Bowl, Gator Bowl, Sugar Bowl and a few BCS Championships games. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Charles Panuska and her parents, Rudolph and Anna Schiller.
She is survived by her son, Rich Panuska and his wife, Neda of Lancaster, SC; her brother, John Schiller and his wife, Jeanne of Powell, OH; niece, Jenny Rozanski of Dublin, OH; nephew, Jeff Schiller and his wife, Kerry of Ft. Mill, SC; great-nieces, Emma and Anna Rozanski, and Emersyn Schiller; great-nephew, Hudson Schiller and lifelong friend, Craig Gelfenbaum.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at Weymouth Funeral Home. Funeral Services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Weymouth Funeral Home with interment to follow at Peninsula Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heritage Humane Society of Williamsburg, VA.
