Rosalie Ester Sullivan, born on June 7, 1933, in Piggotte, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2025, in Yorktown, Virginia, at the age of 92.

Rosalie was a woman of remarkable strength and sharp wit, known for her feisty spirit and unwavering determination. Her life was a testament to resilience and love, qualities she imparted to all who knew her.

Affectionately dubbed the “Puzzle Queen,” Rosalie had a passion for jigsaw puzzles that was unmatched. She delighted in teaching others the art of puzzling, sharing her joy and expertise with family and friends alike.

Rosalie was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Orin Langley and Mary Benton Langley; her devoted husband, Jerry L. Sullivan; her cherished daughter, Lori Herring; and three dear brothers.

She leaves behind a loving family who will forever hold her memory close: her children, Kate Barefoot (Rickey), Darris Stewart, Mary Paul (David), and Christopher Stewart (Tammie); three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Her legacy of love and tenacity will continue to inspire them.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date to honor Rosalie’s life and the indelible mark she left on those who were fortunate enough to know her.

In this time of mourning, we remember Rosalie for her vibrant spirit and the warmth she brought into our lives. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
