Carole Rita (Marino) Lindsay, 85, of Franklin Square, NY

Carole Rita (Marino) Lindsay (Vincent Funeral Home)

Carole Rita (Marino) Lindsay passed away peacefully on December 19, 2025. Carole was born on March 7, 1940, at Israel Zion Hospital, Brooklyn NY to her parents, Philip Nicholas and Maria Carmella Marino.

Carole grew up in Franklin Square, NY and she graduated from Sewanhaka High School in Floral Park, NY. Carole met her husband Barrie while working as a secretary and he was a Corpsman in the US Navy. They met and married in 5 months. Their loving marriage lasted almost 50 years – just a few months shy due to Barrie’s passing in 2013.

Carole worked various jobs early on in their marriage. She was honest, hardworking, thoughtful, committed and always wanted to do what was right. She started working for the Port Jervis School District once all the girls were in school, as a media aide and the high school secretary, and retired with almost 20 years of service. Carole was an avid quilter, loved to sew, read, garden, work on puzzles, was a fabulous cook and stayed informed on all things. She was always looking for a cause to support – whether it be coordinating blood drives, helping a local cat rescue or helping the homeless, she was all in with time, effort and donations.

Carole was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Phil; loving husband, Barrie Lindsay; and their daughter, Phyllis Cooprider. Carole was a mom to 4 daughters – Denise Lindsay (Bill Vest), Diane Lindsay, Phyllis Cooprider (preceded her in death) and Janice VanBenthuysen (Bill VanBenthuysen) and a grandma to 6 grandchildren.

As requested by Carole’s prearranged wishes, there will be no public service. Carole was adamant that there be no fanfare when she passed. We ask that you privately do good deeds, help someone in need or donate blood in her memory.
