On October 16, 2025 Louise Foley Stokes, age 85, left our house and went to the LORD’s House, where she was welcomed by the Angels and Saints.
Louise is survived by her husband of 63 years John F Stokes and her 3 children: John F Stokes III, Christopher M. Stokes, and Carolyn S Hazelwood and her children Addison M Hazelwood and Charles J Hazelwood.
Louise loved learning. She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1987 from Christopher Newport College and a Master’s in Pastoral Studies from Loyola University New Orleans.
Louise also loved music. She played guitar and sang at services at both St. Bede and St. Martin’s. Louise also did volunteer work by taking communion to shut-ins and reading to the blind.
I miss her greatly and await our being together in Heaven.
