It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Betty Wallace, who peacefully left us on August 29th at the age of 89.
Betty was a woman of boundless energy, extraordinary generosity, and unwavering faith. Her vibrant spirit and ability to make everyone feel welcome were a hallmark of her character. She was happiest when sharing her beloved Wallace Manor, which became a haven for all who entered. For many, Wallace Manor was more than just a house—it was a home filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. Whether hosting parties, baby showers, weddings, memorial receptions, or swimming lessons, Betty created an environment where everyone felt welcomed and cared for.
A woman of deep faith, Betty’s relationship with God was the foundation of her life. She was a devoted member of Providence Forge Presbyterian Church. Her faithfulness was reflected in her daily life, where she lived out the values of love, service, and kindness. Betty’s faith and her trust in God’s plan, provided a quiet strength to her family and friends.
Betty was the devoted wife of Billy Ed, the proud mother of Scott, William, and Jim, and a beloved grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her greatest joy in life came from being with her family—celebrating their triumphs, comforting them through life’s challenges, and offering a constant source of love and support. Her presence will be deeply missed by her children, Scott (Nina), and Jim (Diane), their families, and the many friends who were fortunate enough to know her.
The family is incredibly thankful for the love and care shown by so many, especially the staff at Westminster Canterbury Richmond, and friends who supported her with cards, visits, and prayers.
A memorial service will be held at Vincent Funeral Home, in Providence Forge, on Friday September 19th at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Providence Forge Presbyterian Church, a place dear to Betty’s heart.
May Betty rest in peace, knowing her memory will be forever cherished by all who loved her.
