William Thomas (known as “Bill”) Bagby, Sr, 73, of Middlesex

William Thomas (known as “Bill”) Bagby, Sr, 73, of Middlesex, VA, entered his eternal rest, on August 20, 2025. He was the son of (Randolph Bagby, Sr and Lucy Ann Booker-Bagby). He was a devoted husband to his wife Mary for 47 years, where they were blessed to have two children.

William was born on August 6,1952, to the late Randolph Bagby, Sr and Lucy Ann Booker-Bagby.

For over 37 years, William worked for the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office. He had a passion to protect and serve the community. There was not a person that was a stranger to him. Each person who crossed his path was embraced with a compassionate smile. As police officer Deputy Bagby exemplified a man of honor, wisdom, respect, and good character. He was a man who led by example and impacted everyone he came in contact with. Throughout his life he was employed at the Walter Reed Hospital as a security guard and the Saluda Jail as a corrections officer.

William is a graduate of The Middlesex County High School class of 1972. He also received an associate’s degree in criminal justice at Rappahannock Community College. He joined the United States army at an early age. While in the military he was a Sharpshooter, Military Police and a Paratrooper. During his military tenure, he also served overseas in Germany.

William joined Second Mount Olive Baptist Church at an early age. For the past 7 years he has been a faithful and dedicated member of Zion Baptist Church in Cardinal Va, where he served on the trustee board. He is a member of The Bethlehem Star Lodge 249 and The American Legion Post 241. He also was the sponsor of the Post 241 baseball team. He was also a council advisor for the Knights of Pythagoras Council # 44. He was preceded in death by his mom Lucy Ann Bagby, his father Randolph Bagby, and his brothers Rossie Bagby and John Robert Bagby.

William leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Mary Louise Wyatt- Bagby; his daughter, Dr. Andrea R. Robinson “Nell”; his son, William Thomas “Billy” Bagby, Jr (Naysha); his grandchildren, Carnell Omar Bagby, Darnell Nehemiah Robinson and Kyree Ayala Cruz; sister-in-law, Helen Wyatt; brother-in-law, Hebert Wyatt (Linda), and host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held 1PM Saturday, August 30, 2025, at St. Clare Walker Middle School, 6814 General Puller Hwy, Locust Hill, VA 23092.

A viewing will be held from 5pm-8pm, Friday, August 29, 2025, at Vincent Funeral Home, 417 11th Street, West Point, VA 23181. Interment to follow services in the Second Mount Olive Baptist Church cemetery, in Little Plymouth, VA.
