Kimbrough Hornsby, 69, of Virginia Beach, passed away on August 23, 2025.
He was born on April 22, 1956, to Willett and Gloria Hornsby, and throughout his life, he embraced every moment with warmth, curiosity, and a deep appreciation for the world around him. Kimbrough married the love his life Lynn Almasy Hornsby.
A man who found beauty in the simple things, Kimbrough loved spending time in nature and capturing its wonders through photography—moments that filled his heart with peace and joy. His favorite colors, red and white, reflected his spirited and passionate nature. He was a lifelong sports enthusiast who enjoyed basketball, football, and cheering on NC State. Music played a big role in his life as well—classic rock filled his days with energy and nostalgia, with favorites like Frank Zappa, Ozzy Osbourne, and Styx always close at hand.
Kimbrough proudly served his country as a dentist in the United States Navy for 12 years, caring for service members with skill and compassion. His service was a source of pride and reflected his lifelong dedication to helping others. Above all, he will be remembered as a kind-hearted man who carried a quiet strength and whose love for life, family, and simple joys will continue to inspire those who knew him.
