R. Dalhart Adkins passed away peacefully at his home on July 27, 2025.
He was preceded in death by his wife Luella, Mother and Stepfather Doris and Lucian, Father Earl and brother Granton.
He is survived by his son Jason Adkins (Christi) and daughter Wanda Adkins, Sisters Eunice White (Terry), Sheila Stewart (Jerry), Vickie Holmes (Howard), grandchildren Phillip, Elise, Chris, and James, several great grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, and last but not least his faithful friend Little Girl his beloved cat.
Dalhart was a member of the Chickahominy Tribe and enjoyed attending church at Samaria Baptist. Everyone that knew Dalhart knew he was a man that loved his truck, watching westerns, talking with neighbors and friends, and in past time snagging Herring with his wife. Dalhart enjoyed having coffee with his longtime friend Julian Stewart and of course chatting with his buddy Danny Adkins.
The family would like to take this opportunity to thank all that helped Dalhart during these past few years, and especially Mr. Kevin Stewart for making sure the lawn was always maintained to Dalhart’s liking.
