Mrs. Norma Brewster, of Virginia Beach, previously Tucson, Arizona and Iselin, New Jersey passed away peacefully in the afternoon on July 17, 2025, at the age of 85.
Born December 19, 1939, in the Bronx, New York, Norma was the beloved daughter of Sylvia Kreiger and Marcel Schwartz. She carried her New York spirit with grace and determination throughout her life.
Norma’s greatest joys came from family, her beloved husband Irwin, daughter Ilene, sons Paul, Alan and Sam, grandchildren Staci, Elyssa, Sarah and Joseph.
Norma’s life reflected the Jewish values of strength, family, and community. Whether preparing for holidays or simply offering wisdom in conversation, she led with heart.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Irwin Brewster of Virginia Beach; her daughter, Ilene (Phillip) Kohen, also of Virginia Beach; and her son Paul Miller of Denver. Colorado, who continues to honor her legacy.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 18, 2025, at Princess Anne Memorial Park in Virginia Beach. The service will be overseen by Rabbi Ari of Temple Emmanuel.
