Ronald C. Glidden, 86, of Williamsburg

Ronald Chester Glidden, a dedicated and honorable man who proudly served his country, passed away on June 29, 2025, in Virginia at the age of 86. Born on February 20, 1939, in the beautiful state of Maine, Ronald lived a life marked by service, commitment, and integrity.

Ronald was a distinguished Retired Colonel in the U.S. Army, a career that exemplified his strong sense of duty and leadership. His contributions to his country were both commendable and inspiring, leaving a legacy of dedication for future generations to admire.

In pursuit of academic excellence, Ronald attained a Master’s degree, further showcasing his commitment to personal growth and development. His intellectual pursuits were a testament to his belief in the power of education.

Ronald was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bernice L. Glidden, as well as his parents, Averill and Glenys Glidden, and his brother Gary Glidden. He is survived by his cousin, Ramona Hilborn (Terry), who, along with other family and friends, mourns his passing and cherishes the memories they shared.

A reception to honor Ronald’s life will be held at a later date, with details to be announced. Ronald’s final resting place will be at Arlington National Cemetery.
