It is with profound heartbreak and immense sadness that we announce the passing of our sweet angel, August David Barglof. August was born on January 23, 2022 and departed this life on April 24, 2025. In the 3 years and 3 months that he blessed us with his love and presence on this earth, he taught us so much about strength, overcoming adversity, and joy.
He is celebrated by his parents, David and Angela (Compton) Barglof; his big brother, Alrik; his grandparents Doug and Karen Compton, Tom and Jenny Perham, and David and Cheryl Barglof; his aunts, uncles and cousins- Melissa Barglof-Johnson (son Tyler), Justin and Nicole Lessard (daughters Brooklyn and Elle), and Dathon and Kimberley Compton (sons Tyler and Maxx); and many loving extended family members and friends.
August is preceded in death by his uncle, Rick Johnson.
A celebration of our amazing child’s life will be held on Saturday, May 17th at 3:00 pm on the family farm located at 19305 Horse Shoe Road Charles City, VA 23030. This celebration will be open to the public – to any and all people who were touched by our angel’s time here on earth. Those who attend are asked to bring a side dish to contribute to a potluck style meal. We will have a stage and open mic for friends and family to share stories, poems, songs and prayers in memory of August.
His favorite place to be was outside at our farm and retreat. He responded to the natural world. It fueled his body and his soul. While our family is absolutely devastated at the loss of our precious Auggie, we know he would want us to continue our mission at The Guardian Retreat- offering youth, veterans and their families a truly peaceful place to disconnect from the noise of our chaotic world and immerse themselves in nature; focusing on building loving relationships.
