It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph David Edmund, who departed this life on April 3, 2025, in Newport News. Born on June 16, 1987, in New York, Joseph graced the world with his presence for 37 years.
Joseph dedicated much of his professional life to supporting and serving his community and country. He worked diligently in barge maintenance for Technico, where he showcased his skills and commitment at the Norfolk Naval Station. Joseph proudly served his nation for eight years in the Army National Guard and Reserves.
Outside of his professional endeavors, he was an ardent fan of the Buffalo Sabres hockey team and the Boston Red Sox baseball team, occasionally teasing his family from New York about how the Red Sox were better than the Yankees. After discovering a passion for welding through a VA program, he also became a proud welder, dedicating time to mastering the craft he loved.
Above all, Joseph’s greatest passion was being a devoted father to his beloved children. His love for Izayah, Riley, Harper, and Elijah was unwavering, and they were the pride and joy of his life. His role as a father was the cornerstone of his life, and his legacy will forever be cherished in their hearts.
