Blaine Alan Pickens, a devoted husband, proud Papa, selfless friend, and exceptional father, passed away on March 31, 2025. Born on September 21, 1952, in North Kingsville, Ohio, Blaine lived a life marked by love, integrity, and a deep passion for the people and things he cherished most.
Blaine was the son of the late Raymond and Jeannette Pickens. He graduated from Edgewood High School before earning his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Western Kentucky University. His professional career was dedicated to excellence, serving as Manager, Customer Service, and Contract Administrator for Kinder Morgan Bulk Terminals Inc.
Beyond his career, Blaine’s true joys were found in his many passions. He loved fishing, coaching softball, playing guitar, and writing music. He was an avid fan of Indy and NASCAR racing, golf, and college football, where he faithfully cheered on the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Blaine was married to his beloved wife, Deborah Pickens, for 50 years, having wed on August 3rd, 1974. Their marriage was a testament to love, commitment, and partnership, creating a beautiful life together filled with family, laughter, and shared adventures.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Jeannette Pickens, and his sister, Shirley Wilkinson. He is survived by his wife, Deborah Pickens; son Todd Pickens and daughter-in-law Christina Pickens; daughter Tanya Brumbaugh and son-in-law Ben Brumbaugh; and his cherished granddaughters, Skylar Pickens (21), Hannah Brumbaugh (19), and Emma Brumbaugh (14). He is also survived by his loving sister, Sandy Bennett.
A Celebration of Life will be held on April 26, 2025, at Bucktrout Funeral Home, 4124 Ironbound Road, Williamsburg, Virginia 23188, with family receiving guests from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, the memorial service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, and the celebration of life reception from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
Blaine’s legacy of kindness, strength, and unwavering love for his family and friends will be forever remembered.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages those who wish to honor his memory to spend time with loved ones, cast a fishing line in his honor, or simply cheer on the Buckeyes—just as he would have.
