Beloved Mom and Grandma, Gwenyth Julia Brinker (Gwen; Gwennie) passed away peacefully early in the morning of February 13th, 2025 surrounded by her family at the age of 81 years.
Born in Jackson, Michigan to the late Frank Owen and Rhea Owen(Stevlingson) she remained in Michigan until her retirement in 2000. Before retiring to Virginia Beach, Va.
She enjoyed a career at Michigan State Housing Development Authority in Lansing, Mi. She was a loving mother to Jodi and Kira, and son-in-law David, and Grandma to Eric, Evan, Emma and Marik. Gwen played the piano and passed her love of music, especially Motown, on to her children.
She was extremely quick-witted, funny, intelligent and never let anyone end a conversation without saying “Love you, bye.” She stressed the importance of actually saying the words “I love you” and we have, and will continue to say it as often as possible. Gwennie excelled at trivia until the very end and couldn’t be beat at Scrabble. Her humor endured until her last day.
We rest safe in the knowledge she is now content and pain free with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
