Roger Ruixi Chen passed away peacefully in his sleep on the 4th of February 2025.
He was 86 years of age, preceded by his wife of 48 years, Siying. The family just had a gather together the week before for Chinese new year celebration.
Roger ruixi Chen was born in wencheng, zhejiang, in southeastern China in August 1938. After completing his education at Qinghua university, the best tech school in China, he worked almost 50 years in the field of aerospace engineering and worked on numerous projects in China and for NASA.
In his retirement, he organized kiln creek tennis group up until October of 2024 after he was hosptialized. Roger lived alone after the passing of his wife in 2013 and spent his days walking around the neighborhood and playing tennis. His heart was in everything he did, always willing to provide the solutions for others’ problems and seldom complain about his own.
There was always a smile on his face. He was tenacious no matter what situation he faced. He was loving, patient, and independent and was loved and recognized by the people around him in turn. He made sure all his family was provided for and taken care of while he lead a successful career. Up to the end, was a faithful leader and was a strong, powerful, and compassionate example.
He was survived by two daughters and their husbands: Robin and Paul Wong and Vivian and Weiguo Sun in addition to 5 grandchildren: Menghuan and Joey Triska Of Massachusetts, Hans and Allen sun of New Jersey, Amanda Wong and Emily Wong of Virginia.
He will be forever missed and setup a bar high enough for everyone to reach with pride, hardwork and endurance.
