Dora L. Smith of Williamsburg, VA was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother during her incredible 90 years of life. She passed away peacefully in the early hours of Wednesday, January 22, 2025.
Dora was born to Mildred and George E. Seburn, Sr. in Newport News (Warwick County), VA.
She worked for Newport News Public Schools, first as a bus driver and retired as an executive secretary. After 23 years of hard work and dedication, Dora enjoyed spending time camping, fishing and traveling the country exploring new places with the love of her life, Fred A. Smith, Jr. She was a member of Menchville Baptist Church.
Dora was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Seburn; her father, George E. Seburn, Sr.; her two brothers, George Seburn, Jr. and Frances Seburn and her beloved husband of over 68 years, Fred A. Smith, Jr. Dora is survived by her loving son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Michelle Smith of Williamsburg; her granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Jennifer and Brian Roberts of Williamsburg and the love of her life that brought her so much joy, her great-granddaughters, Haley and Alyssa Roberts of Williamsburg.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 2:30 p.m. on Friday, January 31, 2025 at Weymouth Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be private.
