Charles Herbert Jimmerson Jr., was born on March 22, 1940, the oldest son to the late Charles Herbert Jimmerson Sr. and Elizabeth Pressey Jimmerson of Williamsburg Virginia. On Sunday, December 1, 2024, at 7:15 am without suffering, he slipped away quietly to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Charles is a 1959 graduate of Bruton Height School of Williamsburg, Virginia where he played football and baseball for the Bruton Height Spiders.
Charles was a faithful member of New Zion Baptist Church until his health prevented him from attending.
At an early age, Charles entered the workforce, ultimately retiring after a long career with the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation and the Newport News Shipbuilding (Shipyard). He was also employed by Cheatam Annex, The Williamsburg Bowling Alley, and Roberts Tile. Charles was an avid sportsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, dancing, and gardening. He never met a stranger and loved long conversations with people.
He is preceded in death by his brother Quinton Jimmerson. Charles is survived by his children, Kathy Bunaugh (Daniel), Regina Ihsane, Devron Jimmerson, Steven Jimmerson (Devonna), and Corey Jimmerson; five siblings, Warren Lee Jimmerson (Lana), Harriet Banks (Llyod Sr.), Arlene Tucker (Jesse), Kirmitt Jimmerson (Jackie), and Glendora Finley (Major J.C.); and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends who absolutely adored him.
A funeral service to celebrate Charles’ life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 7, 2024, at New Zion Baptist Church. Interment to follow in Williamsburg Memorial Park. Mr. Jimmerson may be viewed beginning at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in the church.
