Donna J. Spino, 88, a long-time resident of East Stroudsburg, PA passed away on Sunday October 27, 2024, of natural causes. Born November 23, 1935, in Scranton PA, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Clifford and E. Irene Mack.
Donna valued education. She attended high school at Wyoming Seminary in Kingston, PA and was a 1953 graduate. She received her degree in education in 1969 from East Stroudsburg State College, PA. Donna was employed by Hope Township Schools, NJ where she was an elementary school teacher for 32 years.
Donna had a passion for dance throughout her life. She enjoyed ballet as a child and continued dancing ballroom and salsa styles until she was in her 80’s. She loved women’s basketball, playing piano, dancing at the Pocono Singles Club, flea markets, crossword puzzles and she was an avid reader. She was an active member of the East Stroudsburg United Methodist Church, participating in many volunteer activities. She greatly enjoyed ushering at the Pocono Playhouse.
Donna is survived by her children, Tamara (Jon) Vaden, Terrie Pumphrey, and Brian (Joanne) Spino; her grandchildren, Jason (Katie) Flores, Jarrod Flores, Casey Flores, Sarah Bucci, Rachel (Peter) Vernacchia, Daniel Spino, Thomas Spino, and Joseph Spino; and great-grandchildren, Justin Flores, Olivia Bucci, Sebastian Bucci, and Isabella Vernacchia. She was preceded in death by her brother Clifford Mack Jr., and is survived by her brother Barry Mack.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 12 noon, November 16th at Journey Christian Fellowship Church (ARK), 3020 New Kent Highway Quinton, VA 23141. She will be interred at East Canaan Cemetery in South Canaan, PA.
