Stephen Michael Perron (Altmeyer Funeral Home)

It is with great love that the family of Stephen Michael Perron (Steve) announce his passing. Steve will be remembered as a passionate, driven and honorable man with a “wicked” sense of humor and love for Boston sports.

He was born March 10, 1963 and was raised in Beverly, MA. He passed on October 5, 2024 at the age of 61. He will be remembered and celebrated by his best friend and wife of 39 years, Jeannine, and their two daughters Renee and Becky, along with Becky’s husband Wick and their two children, Annie and Mac. Steve is also survived by his mother, Connie, and his five brothers and sisters, along with a large extended family and a wealth of close friends.

Steve graduated from Merrimack College in 1985 and was driven to embrace a life of public service, accepting an entry-level position in security at the Central Intelligence Agency, where he served for more than 35 years. His honorable and distinguished service started just after graduation, rising through the ranks by providing critical security to the Agency’s mission and workforce, and ended in achieving the highest position of his field – Director of Security.

Upon his retirement in 2021, Steve was recognized for his significant contributions and impact across the Intelligence Community with the highest career commendations and awards – including the Distinguished Career Intelligence Medal.

However, his true legacy is that of a compassionate leader of people, an unapologetic patriot, and mostly, as a loyal and dedicated friend, husband, father and Pepere.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Lesner Inn on October 18, 2024 at noon in Virginia Beach, VA. Dress code is casual – New England sports attire optional.

In lieu of gifts or flowers, donations can be made to The CIA Officers Memorial Foundation. The organization was established in 2001 to help cover all educational costs for the spouses and children of officers who die in the line of duty.

The family would like to thank all of Steve’s doctors and caregivers for all their support and care, but most importantly, the gratitude of the many people who Steve’s life touched.
