Soo Ja Bang, 82, went to join her husband and ancestors with her Lord on October 7, 2024.
She was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea. She met her predeceased husband, Won Ho Bang, and had three children. She and her family immigrated to the United States in 1979, resided in Richmond, Va, for 11 years and eventually settled and resided on the Peninsula for the past 33 years.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by son, Dong R. Bang; Dong M. Bang and wife, EunHee; Dong S. Bang and wife, Jennifer; grandchildren, Haley Lee, Jin, Phoebe and Ada Bang; and extended family.
Prior to her sickness she enjoyed gardening, reading, spending time with family and making authentic Korean food.
The family would like to thank Dr. J. Lazarzaburu, Dr. W. Chen and their medical teams and Gentiva Hospice care team, all who went out of their way to provide excellent care.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Amory Funeral Home, 410 Grafton Drive, Grafton, VA 23692.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Alzeheimer’s Foundation.
